Best SciFi Movies & TV of the last 25 years

Entertainment Weekly has an interesting list on it’s website this week listing the top 25 science fiction movies or tv shows of the past 25 years.  I don’t agree with every choice, but they got a lot of it right.  Starting from 82 to now leaves out the first Star Wars trilogy though and LOTR doesn’t count since it’s fantasy.  A good case can be made for the Matrix at #1, though the sequels hurt it some.  I was not ready to see BSG at #2 and I love that show.  I think it may be too soon to put it that high.  Blade Runner seems overrated to me now and my memories of the X-files are of how poor it was in the end instead of its greatness in the beginning.  Wrath of Khan at 5 is good, but Brazil at 6?  Come on.  How influential is Brazil? 

ET is overrated, STTNG is a well deserving 8, Aliens works next along with the Thing.  Too soon for Lost to be at 11.  Terminator/Back to Future ok, Children of Men I have not seen.  Firefly works at 15.  Not sure about Total Recall or Eternal Sunshine.  May be too early for Heroes.  Need to go back and watch Starship Troopers again since it seems to be saying something  deeper than it’s surface message.  Glad to see Quantum Leap, Galaxy Quest and V on the list.  Why not Buffy?  Ultimately, it’s a pretty good list though.
